Concerning Cloning Human
There are overwhelming evidences on Earth, which clearly show that the human kind is an original home grown specie of our planet. These evidences are seen everywhere in the evolution of bone structure of the animal species. Of course our similarity to the monkey families also dispels any possibilities that our ancestor might have been some kind of superior visitor from the outer space. That being the case, then the evolutionary process that has brought us all the way from the time when there was nothing but primitive marine life-forms has taken some years, and yet it has kept its chained process unbroken over those seemingly boundless years.
The unbroken process of
evolution gives the human being an inner awareness from birth that he is the
offspring of his special specie in body and in soul, and that he bears the love,
the hope, the pride and the conscience of his biological parents who because of
that have created him. For that reason he has never questioned how he should
feel and what he should do as a human being. He instinctively knows he is
special because he is the survivor of love, hope, pride and conscience, and his
human paternal, maternal and fraternal relationships do not come easy as they
would often entail a great deal of purpose as well as self-sacrifice. In his
name there is inscribed millions of years of human struggles for survival as
well as unbroken generations of love and care for the offspring, which have made
possible for each life on earth as it is. Unfortunately, it appears that this process of natural evolution has now come to
a cross road. It is possible that the human specie is about to lose all its
natural inheritance and become a mass product of artificial manufactory, as the
chain of biological evolution has been broken in the last decades of the 20th
century by a process called “Cloning”.
Ironically the process does not need very complicated or expensive equipments, just an ordinary microscope and a glass tube. Meanwhile apparently all the biological ingredients needed are just one human egg and a cell taken from another person’s body, say a bit of skin, perhaps a hair, or even just a body fluid. A new human being may be cloned by using the glass tube to suck out part of the egg and replace it with the other human cell. When the egg is planted inside a surrogate mother’s womb, nature would take over the rest and nourish the growth of the new human infant. The cloning of human being might bring about some relatively limited medical benefits to mankind, but what looms behind this process is something very dark, awesome, ominous and by far worse. Unfortunately it is already more than difficult to prevent it from happening.
There will always be those who simply are fascinated by dangers and love to play with fire, thinking that they are so clever they would not get burnt. Then there are those who think they are entitled to every right and freedom to do whatever they please regardless of ill consequence to others. There are also those who are simply criminally inclined and would break any rules or barriers for a buck. Then again there are also those who would predict and proclaim great future and great hopes for cloning humans when they have no inkling of what's coming or what's could be installed in the unknown near and distant future at all (DNA therapy, perhaps. Cloning, definitely bad idea!). Then, of course, one should expect that there are even those who genuinely believe that human cloning is a good thing, and perhaps believing that, like Christopher Columbus, science is on the verge of discovering another great new continent. … Now to stretch it a bit, perhaps someday there might be those who would clone an Olympic champion for a son or a beauty queen for a daughter. Perhaps some conglomerates would come up with a whole team of cloned artificial Einsteins. Then there are those who might clone troops of slaves or prostitutes (especially child prostitutes), which would be much more profitable and convenient than trafficking drugs or illegal immigrants…. Perhaps in time of war, or in the preparation of war, or when national survival is threatened, the thought of cloning an army could be much more real…. It seems possible to clone large batches of the same person, as only one cell is needed to clone one person... Perhaps someday someone might find a way even to clone the Egyptian Pharaoh Tutankhamen (OK, perhaps only his look alike, or is it?) back in the living world again (perhaps that's what the mummies have been waiting for).... Recently there was a couple who had for a while expressed their wish to clone their lost baby back into their loving arms, a loving thought that would touch every parent's heart. However, once it gets started, then for the same sentiments there could be thousands who would want to clone back their babies and beloved wives, husbands, even their loving parents as well. When such cloning business really got going, the world could easily be over crowded. There would at least be more traffic jams.
If that were all there could be, then that would still be not too ominous, because at least that would be still predictable and imaginable. What’s unimaginable would be what the cloned specie might do. What if something turned out not so perfectly desirable in the results of cloning, even just a remote possibility of physical or psychological defects later in life? Or just hidden in the next generations? After all, nature has taken billions of years to evolve through natural selection. In that seemingly endless tests of evolutionary development, if there was a need, nature would have provided it, and if there was a better way nature would have used it. So there are good reasons that nature chooses to procreate through the union of sperm and egg, yet even then there are imperfections, mutations and birth defects, such as Down Syndromes, or many other birth defects, or at times some nasty surprises. Now, suddenly a handful of scientists think it is just as safe to start a brand new process by crudely tempering with the yoke of an human egg
( A single hollow glass tube stabs into the egg and sucks out the yoke together with some tiny measure of the egg white, the amount of which can hardly be controlled. Then the egg is penetrated again to inject a second person's DNA seeds into the egg, but again some tiny but an uncontrolled amount of egg white would adhere to the glass tube and come out with the tube. These tiny amounts of inexact and uncontrolled biological substance that come in and out of the egg compared with the total weight of the tiny egg is proportionally large, say 1 in 1000 parts. But out of this tiny egg a person would grow to say about 6 feet tall.... I wonder if I may ask? ... How many parts of that cloned person might turned out inexact or uncontrolled?. )
and then use it to clone hopefully a healthy human. The odds of failures and unexpected results are simply too obvious!
When Dolly, the sheep, was cloned, some 277 attempts were made, which means 276 eggs were used and failed to develop properly. The failed eggs and half failed creatures were of course destroyed, all 276 of them! Now the sheep is a low grade animal specie, and the poor creature can't speak out to complain anyway! It shouldn't be too difficult to imagine that cloning human would be at least 10 times more difficult to achieve. In that case, it would mean that by comparison at least over 2700 human eggs might be needed, and all of them but one would not be perfectly developed... .. But, the only one that appears to pass quality control, is it really perfect?....
If some one should guarantee to clone a perfectly healthy and normal baby for you, would you believe it? What if the defects are hidden for many generations and already spread into all those generations? Who should be responsible when the birth defect turned up? Who should these "sons of skin" or perhaps "daughters of hairs" blame for cloning and bringing them into a world that may fear them and may not want to marry or to live with them? and since there is no love, hope, pride and conscience involved in the biological creation, would they simply get mad and machine-gun everybody around dead? .... On the other hand, should these newly cloned species turned out to be more superior than the average natural humans, then perhaps someday if there were enough such cloned species around, and since they would be physically stronger and probably smarter, they would want to rule the world. They might even turn around and make slaves out of the more inferior natural humans, who have cloned them.
Well, why not? Since nobody wants to be the weaker or the uglier specie, and now that there are choices instead of parental or fraternal sentiments to worry about, they might as well get together to clone more of their own kind and proliferate. When that happens then who is going to stop such proliferation? Who is going to be responsible for the rest and the future of mankind? Therefore, it looks like if someday the cloning technology were to become perfect, then just by natural competition alone, the original humans are doomed in just a few short generations. Who know? Perhaps someday the human male specie would have a different meaning and different role of existence. Only a specially chosen few would be engaged in the reproduction of better grade humans, while 99.9% of other males are therefore redundant and would serve as slaves and soldiers. While at the same time, the female species would all serve as surrogate mothers and become factories for mass production of the designed or improved humans. Who knows someday they might even do away with humans and use pigs sows to do it. So perhaps someday the whole population on planet Earth would be cloned humans only. Even if that didn’t happen, the male human having lost his primary function and purpose, his male ego could suffer and dwindle into insignificance (was that what had happened to the Alien in Roswell?).
So, it is probably good time now to ask, is it too late to put the genie back into the bottle? Or is it possible that the original human specie, having come all the way through hundreds of million years of evolution, is now about to be cloned out of existence by none other than a tiny glass tube?
Note: In the discipline of human genealogy scientists were surprised to find the "Jumping Genes". In the field of Quantum Physics scientists were also surprised to encounter the "Uncertainty Principle", an unexpected behaviour of the subatomic particles. Yet both cases are just perfectly normal functions and phenomena of nature, as nature is not fixed exactly the way humans think it should be. Thank God for that, because if nature were fixed, then there would be no "Evolution" at all. But instead, nature is able to take reference of all things within its own system, which the humans are still learning to understand. Nature then allows and decides exactly why, how and when a condition is ripe to trigger an evolutionary step, or to effect a jump of genes, while the humans have no idea of why and when nature would do it. More over, even though nature may make an unexpected move, it is certainly not random or chaotic, because nothing in nature is random without cause. That's why evolution is always directional and never chaotic. Even so, evolution in nature needs time and every other suitable supporting conditions, otherwise, the results are pretty obvious. ..... The reason nature has taken thousands of million years to create a living ecologic system with completely workable yet extremely sensitive balance in every aspect, i.e. physically, metaphysically and socially or environmentally, is because it takes time for the entire complex eco-system to be ready for the change. As everything is matched in resonance and is interdependent, each time nature creates a new specie, that specie must be accepted by the entire system. If it were not accepted by the system, it would try to destroy the system and take over, or it would simply be destroyed by the system. Whichever way it happened, it would turn the system upside-down for a while....
So, in short, when
nature causes genes to jump, or to be altered, be it human genes or just food
genes, we would
called it a "natural process" or just "the evolution". We
can always trust nature's evolution because for billions of years it has only
brought all forms of life closer towards wisdom and biological perfection and
never backwards and never causing violent results. But when a human causes genes to alter, then
that human effort could well be interfering or upsetting nature's ongoing but untold timing
and orders. The
results could easily be offensive or abusive to those untold timing and orders. Science is not only
the knowledge to make use of nature's orders, or at best to accelerate them a
little, provided science knows exactly its limits, and provided nature agrees
with it (e.g. Traditional cross breeding is a highly natural process, in fact,
it has always been a nature's provision for mutation with or without human
efforts, while cloning is
highly abusive to nature's process!), but science should be also the wisdom to follow and obey nature's intents. That is how
and why civilization has been built safely up to now, as nature would weed out
all the unwanted and un-natural elements, and permit survival only to those
competing in accordance with the correct
natural laws and orders, as well as in accordance to intelligence and common
sense (Charles Darwin's "Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection,
or the Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life").

In order to
achieve harmonious existence with nature,
often just seeing the drama being played on the theatrical sceneries of nature is not enough. It is the
revelation that comes with it, which in the end pays for the ticket, hopefully
not too costly. In other words, just knowing "How" to do it is not
enough. It is also important to respect nature's "Will" for survival
of the fittest and learn to understand "Why" nature permits that
survival. Because in the very end, nature will have its own way! .... So,
those who have already committed their
resources and people to the test, should take precautions to
monitor and study if any symptoms of unusual change in physical
appearance or unusual mental performance, perhaps eating habits, of the people under test, which
may have become apparent since the experiment started either in human
DNA or in food DNA. If timely
precautious measures and constant vigils are taken, then there could be time for rectification, otherwise it might just go too far and
too expensive to pay for the
responsibilities.
In other words, do not wait until a revolt of
guinea-pigs knocking on the door, as too many guinea-pigs could bring down the house.
On the left, I found yet another ridicule of Dawin by some unknown author
It so happens that whatever seems not quite right to the majority, usually ends up being very wrong. The term "Genes" is related to the term "Generation". In the experiment of genes, as early as the pea plants experimented by Austrian monk Gregor Mendel, the results are visible and apparent only in the subsequent offspring generations. In other words, the results are spread in geometric progression, yet they may be hidden for generations. So once such an experiment gets started and if proved to be undesirable, even though it may not be apparent, it could already result in extremely wide and deep social consequences, which are no longer removable.
Those parents who intend on cloning a child for themselves would do well also to consider if the child wants to be cloned into the world of natural human specie (call it Cloned-Specie Human-Rights). Otherwise, do not allow unknown scientific experiments on your own children, or risk it on the rest of family, not even on friends and your society. Cloned specie bearing imperfect or unknown or hidden genetic traits should not be thrust and integrated (especially in marriage) into the society without the prior knowledge and acceptance by different fields of science and scientists, or by proper authorities or legislations of society (Human Rights do not include the rights and freedom of criminal intends or dangerous adventurisms that may cause large and uncontrollable social consequences. Individual Human Rights also cannot include the rights and freedom to alter, or to abuse, or to damage the basic mental and biological make-up of human race). The difference between human genes and animal genes is very small and the entire eco-system is in extremely sensitive balance. To cause the slightest unknown alteration or any change at all in the human genes is to change the human from being what he is. It can not be compared with Christopher Columbus's historic discovery.... So, at least for the time being, there should be safety first, and then proceed with extreme cautions. DNA therapy might prove to be useful, but Cloning should be strictly for the meat on the dinner table alone!
